OUR OWN PROTOCOL · BUILT IN-HOUSE

The MeduzaVPN protocol: our own answer to networks that block VPNs

Most services resell the same handful of public protocols. When a network learns to recognise those, everyone using them goes dark at once. MeduzaVPN is our own connection mode, developed in-house precisely so that our customers are not part of that crowd.

  • Ours, not borrowedIt is developed and maintained by us, so when a network changes how it filters, we can change how the protocol behaves — instead of waiting for someone else's project to react.
  • Unremarkable by designThe point is not stronger encryption; it is that the traffic does not announce itself as a VPN. Filtering equipment looks for recognisable patterns, and this mode is built so there is little to recognise.
  • Individual to your serverIts parameters are generated separately for every server and delivered to your apps automatically. Two customers on two servers do not look alike, so blocking one tells a network nothing about the other.
  • Adjustable when a network is stubbornMost people never touch it. But if a particular network gives you trouble, the app exposes advanced settings with ready-made presets, so the connection can be made more conservative without any technical knowledge.
  • On every platform you useiPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, Windows and Linux — the protocol is built into the MeduzaVPN apps, with no configuration file to import and no third-party client to install.
  • Included, and never the only optionIt costs nothing extra and sits alongside every other protocol on your server. If it ever struggles, switch to MeduzaVPN ULTRA, WireGuard or VLESS in the same list and keep working.

What we do not claim

No protocol defeats every network, and we will not pretend otherwise. MeduzaVPN is one connection mode among many on your personal server: it is the one we build ourselves and the one we improve first, but the reason your server carries a dozen protocols at once is that networks differ and the right answer is to switch.

We describe what the protocol does for you, not how it does it. The details of its behaviour are exactly what makes it hard to detect, so they stay with us.

We built our own protocol, because the usual ones stopped being enough.
