We built our own protocol, because the usual ones stopped being enough.
Most services resell the same handful of public protocols. When a network learns to recognise those, everyone using them goes dark at once. MeduzaVPN is our own connection mode, developed in-house precisely so that our customers are not part of that crowd.
- Ours, not borrowedIt is developed and maintained by us, so when a network changes how it filters, we can change how the protocol behaves — instead of waiting for someone else's project to react.
- Unremarkable by designThe point is not stronger encryption; it is that the traffic does not announce itself as a VPN. Filtering equipment looks for recognisable patterns, and this mode is built so there is little to recognise.
- Individual to your serverIts parameters are generated separately for every server and delivered to your apps automatically. Two customers on two servers do not look alike, so blocking one tells a network nothing about the other.

Your VPN carries IPv6 next to IPv4 wherever the location supports it, so modern IPv6-only services stay reachable through the tunnel. And it is a switch, not a fixed setting: turn IPv6 on or off for each VPN separately, from the app or from your account.
- Dual-stack where the location has itYour VPN gets its own IPv6 address alongside the IPv4 one, and the app shows both. Not every location offers IPv6 yet — where it does not, the app tells you instead of failing quietly.
- One switch per VPNIn the app it is VPN settings → IP version; on the website it is IPv4 / IPv6 on the VPN's card. Each VPN is set independently, and at least one of the two always stays on — IPv4 is required for the connection to work.
- Applied on the server in about half a minuteSwitching rebuilds the VPN's configuration on the server. The switch flips only once the server confirms the change, so what you see is the real state, not just a preference, and the app reconnects the tunnel for you.
IPv6 availability depends on the location of each VPN. If a VPN has no IPv6 yet, its switch says so rather than pretending to work.

How does MeduzaVPN work?
MeduzaVPN deploys a personal VPN for you on a dedicated VPS in your selected location. Your traffic goes through your own server, not a shared IP used by many users.
How do I use MeduzaVPN?
Our MeduzaVPN apps are available for Windows, Android, iOS, macOS and Linux: purchase a service, choose a location, sign in, and connect. Get the Windows and Linux apps from meduzavpn.com, Android on Google Play and iOS/macOS on the App Store. On Linux there is both a desktop app and a command-line client, as .deb and .rpm packages or through our apt/dnf repository.
Is there a trial period?
Yes, in the apps: a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play can start with a 7-day free trial, offered to new customers on the single-VPN plan. Plans with several VPNs and purchases made on the website have no trial, but every purchase is covered by the refund policy below.
How secure is MeduzaVPN?
We use modern VPN protocols and encryption for connections. On the VPN server side, we do not keep logs of your activity.
How many devices can I connect?
One service equals one VPS in one location. On the server side, we do not limit how many of your devices connect, but the server's dedicated bandwidth is shared across all devices connected at the same time.
Is MeduzaVPN legal to use?
VPN usage is legal in most countries, but rules vary by jurisdiction. Please check local laws and restrictions before using the service.
What is the difference between protocols?
Protocols differ in encryption approach, stability across networks and client compatibility. The apps default to MeduzaVPN ULTRA, our newest mode for difficult networks, with the MeduzaVPN protocol as the dependable fallback. We also support WireGuard, VLESS, VLESS 2.0, Xray, V2Ray, Outline, Shadowsocks, Hysteria, SoftEther, OpenVPN, IKEv2/IPsec and SOCKS5 — every protocol is on your server at once, so you can switch freely until one suits your network.
How can I change my VPN location?
You can change the location in your account dashboard in service management on the active services page. It is also available in our apps in the active service settings.
What does changing location give you?
When you switch location, your public IP address changes. This makes it harder to link your activity to your real location and helps you browse with more privacy.

What is reverse VPN and how does “Just like home” work?
Reverse VPN means connecting from abroad to a VPN server in your home country. For example, while in Cyprus you connect to a server in Russia: websites see that server’s Russian public IP for traffic routed through the VPN. This can help access services restricted by IP country. It does not need a separate protocol or special mode; choose the appropriate server country.
How can I get a Russian IP address abroad?
Choose an available VPN server in Russia and connect through MeduzaVPN. Websites accessed through the VPN will see the Russian server’s IP. This may help you reach Russian websites, online accounts and regional services from abroad. Check location availability before ordering; individual services may also verify your account or block data centre IPs.
Can I get a Chinese IP outside China?
A mainland Chinese IP requires an available server in mainland China. A server in Hong Kong or a neighbouring country is not equivalent to a mainland connection. Check the required location before ordering. Chinese apps may also require a specific account region, local phone number or subscription. A VPN changes the public IP of traffic routed through it, not these details.
How can I use German services outside Germany?
Connect to an available VPN server in Germany so websites see a German IP for your VPN traffic. The same principle applies elsewhere: choose a server in the service’s country. Access to media libraries and regional platforms also depends on their rules, your subscription and whether they accept VPN connections.
Does reverse VPN unlock every service in a country?
It can help where access is determined by the country of your public IP, but it cannot guarantee access to every service. Websites may check account region, GPS, SIM card or payment details, or block server IPs. A VPN does not change these requirements or replace a subscription or sign-in. Check your particular services after connecting.
Will I get my actual home IP or a VPN server IP?
You get the public IP of your personal VPN server in the selected country. This is not your home router’s address or a residential ISP address. “Just like home” means connecting with an IP from your home country. A data centre IP may not work for services that only accept residential connections.
